Dr. Rikki Alley was born and raised in Southern California and was lucky enough to have pets of all sorts growing up. A love for animals and the ocean motivated her to major in marine biology at California State University, Long Beach. While volunteering with seals, sea lions, and sea birds, Dr. Alley became interested in the veterinary component of their rehabilitation. She then went on to work with companion animals as a veterinary assistant before beginning her veterinary program at Colorado State University.
At Colorado State, Dr. Alley got to work with lions, tigers, and bears, among many other less dangerous critters. Through her clinical school years, she became primarily interested in small animal medicine and surgery. After graduation, the ocean was calling her name and she returned to Southern California to work in small animal general practice.
Dr. Alley enjoys getting to know her clients and their pets, and she strives to educate and empower owners to be a part of the health care team for their furry companions. She is excited to be the newest member of the team at Villa Park Animal Clinic!
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Alley’s favorite activities are surfing before work, weekend camping and rock climbing trips with her husband, and international travel. She has one dog and two cats at home.
